Set Up Your Blog to Be Read Quicker and Easier
The best way to get your blog content read quickly is through RSS syndication. Simply, RSS is a standard for publishing your blog's content. Using RSS isn't going to attract new customers but it will allow for your existing visitors, however they found your blog, to view your content easier and quicker. This is good because you want to create site 'stickiness' and RSS gets the job done.
In most cases you can syndicate automatically. It depends on how your site is set up. If you use Blogger, this can be automatic. We'll discuss Blogger in the future. But how youaccomplish RSS syndication depends entirely on your site.
I use FeedBurner which makes it easy to receive content updates in various news readers like My Yahoo!, Newsgator, Bloglines, and others. We'll discuss news readers (I use Bloglines) in the future as well. But to get your content set up to be read, Feedburner will create an XML content feed. The orange button to theright under RSS Feeds allows traffic to Subscribe to this blog using FeedBurner.
BTW, apply FeedBurners SmartFeed™ service to an Atom feed, such as those provided by Blogger, and your feed is delivered as RSS to readers that still don't support Atom. Atom is a different XML format for content feeds.
